I've been looking for a copy of "Briefcase Full of Blues" by the Blues Brothers for about six months. Here's the kicker, I'm looking for an original copy, not the remaster, and it's gotta be on vinyl. It was originally released in 1978, December I think. Anybody else here a vinyl junkie?

I love vinyl. My collections are jazz and classical. My favorite album that I own is a 1978 copy of Kind of Blue by Miles Davis. I don't have the Blues Brothers album you're looking for, but good luck. I'm 'on a mission' to find a few albums myself.

There's an antique dealer 30 minutes away from where I live that restored a 1927 Victor Victrola phonograph, and it's absolutely beautiful. It's going for $800.00, which is quite reasonable. Oh if only I could somehow justify the purchase...

Jest, I don't think this whole compact disc thing is going to catch on. It's just a fad. AudiJapan, very nice. I've got a Thorens table with a Sumiko Blue Point on it. In all seriousness, most of my music collection is on CD, but I've got about 50 albums that are either brand new or only listened to a handful of times. I bought all of my stereo equipment before I got married. I'd never be able to get that past the purchasing department in my house...

LOL Doose. Ya, my two primetime albums are the original Michael Jackson Thriller and Grand Funk Railroad. Two awsome vinyls! And I gotta admit..nothing can beat the warmth of analog! However, digital is about a million times easier to record and produce with not to mention manufacture so I highly doubt vinyls will ever make a come back. I'm sure they'll stick around for all those DJ's out there and the collectors but never in mainstream again[8D]
