Default chip questions

Hey does anyone have any advice for what brand of computer chip to go with for a 1998 A4 1.8T? i'm looking for one that has a smooth power band all the way through the rpms. thanks

I would say APR chip for what you are talking about. That is what I have. The GIAC chip gives more low end, and then runs out a bit in the higher RPM's. The apr is smoother through the whole powerband. I personally love it btw. I just got it installed last Friday, and it feels like I am driving a new car. It is actually decent now....as far as speed and passing power. You will also need to get a DV. You should go do a search in the a4 forum. Don't make a post on the subject....or you may get flammed because there is tons of info on this exact subject. Only make a post if you are desperate, but be prepaired for some comments from guys with no patience.

Btw...I have the same car as you....if your's is quattro and I love the chip.
