Default 2000 A6 2.7T wheels rims

I am posting this message in hopes of finding wheel solutions that others have already successfully employed on 2.7T. Although tirerack has several rims to choose from, I would rather use a solution that someone else has found satisfactory. It's a limited selection for the 2000 A6 2.7T because of the large brake calipers.

I would like to find wheels that are under $225/wheel and that I can use for dedicated summer use and that require no spacers and use the original bolts from the 16x7 wheels that came original (keeping as dedicated winter wheels). I think a 17x8 wheel would probably be ideal for me. Anyone have a success story for me?

I believe the 18" SSRs purchased by the original owner were bought at Discount Tire. They clear without any mods on my 2003. I don't know if the calipers are the same as yours. I did find that they take a different lug nut, but that was fine with me as they were able to sell me a locking set which I wanted anyway.

I went with a staggard set up with 19x9.5 rear and 19x8.5 front. With the tire set up I used they are2/100th of a inch difference in height. So this will not effect the quattro. The tire sizes used are 275-30-19 rear and 235-35-19 front. I've got about $1500 for the tires and wheels.

as long as the tire hights are within 3% variance of each other. with the sizes i used the fronts are 25.48in tall and the rear 25.5in. almost exact. i have about 3000 miles on them with 2 road trips over 600 miles each and no problems or vibrations.

I have BBS RKs on mine 17X8. I managed to pick up a nearly perfect set on eBay (with used tires - P Zero Nero M+S) for $600 shipped. Keep your eyes peeled - they're out there.

I also had a set of the OEM B5 S4 Avus wheels in 17X8. The S4 uses the same brakes we do. They are pretty plentiful on eBay.

my friend whos an MK4 owner told me that we can use staggered wheels if the difference between them is no bigger than one inch. can anyone confirm or refute that?

sweet looking wheels. I am afraid of 19" rims though b/c NJ is an orgy of potholes. Can you send the info on the rims and where to buy?

HI I have 19's but I see on your post you're looking for 17's
I have a set pf BBS RC made for Audi that are GREAT. They look good on the A6 and are light! dealer sell them for over 500 each, and tirerack for 450 I think.
If you're interested, I could sell you mine for 800 + shipping for the set due to age and scratches. Wheels are true and balance perfectly.
Currently they have winter tires on them which in would remove unless you want them, in which case price would be 1500.
Tires are new and expensive (235x35 Goodyear ultagrip3) with warranty on them. Paid $900+ for them mounted with the warranty
