Default 2001 A6 2.5 TDI - mpg Question

Just bought this car and am very please with it but am a little concerned over the mpg i am getting. Just done a motorway run of 240 miles and the computer was telling me that I was averaging 36mpg, I did recet the computer beforeI started and it was based on a full tank. Surely this can't be right, I would have expected somewhere in the region of 45 mpg

Can any please offer any advise or suggestions on this?

I've just done a 180 mile journey and averaged 44mpg; sorry...can't offer any advice....I have a problem where the Turbo is not kicking in...apparantly it's the Mass Airflow Sensor...gonna cost about £200 to sort....and is a common problem.....ho hum. Hope you get your prob sorted....BTW....what speeds were you doing?

It's a possibility - it depends on the road conditions and the way in which you were driving. Did you do the actual math to see if the computer is correct?
