first you need to deside on a certain t3/t4, there are tons of variants. 50trim with a .48 turbine for quick spool or .63 for more top end. 50trimis the bestt3t4 turbofor a 1.8t

Then you will need:
t3 manifold
downpipe
oil lines (feed and return)
injectors 440-630 (genisis are the best)
sw (revo, unitronics, giac)

That will get you running but you will then need a larger intercooler and other odds and ends.

theres really nothing to a t3/t4 unless its the smaller water and oil cooled. Its mainly a bigg A turbo housing, a basic oil fed center section, and a big A compressor. nothin Complex really.

Its called old technology. Journal bearings have been around forever and ballbearings are amuch newer thing.

Thanks to math and physics, all that old school guessing is taking out.
Doing math to select a turbo is very easy. Dont know why some people dont do it at all.
Anyways, NA418T, you will need to find a exaust manifold that would be able to conect to T3/4 turbo. You will probably will need to make a custum one. As for tuning, you probably will need a new fuel pump, bigger injectors, and a piggy back to go alone.

What are you planing the setup for? dayily driver? street racing? rally? etc....
How much power are you planing to produce?

History/EDIT:
The one of the first turboes where bb, thats true, then it made a move to journal bearings, and now its back. The production of ball bearings have improved over the years dramatically, so they can work better that journal bearinsg.
