I just picked up this 93 100CS Quattro Wagon, with 150K. The cruise control doesn't work. I saw someone else say that theirs went out also, but they didn't mention how they fixed it. It is usually an inexpensive switch? Or possibly something else?

It also seems I have a pretty good oil leak. Might be the rear main. All I can see right now, before getting it up on a rack, is that it is leaking from the vacinity of the back of the oil pan, where it marries with the tranny. Has this happened to anyone else? Any tips on the repair?

Also, the backlit dash lighting is extremely faint. Is there any kind of adjustment to brighten it up? I couldn't find one in the manual. Most cars I have owned DO have a knob to brighten ot lessen the gauge lighing, but couldn't find one on this car.

Thanks!!

I have a '95 B4 Quattro, and the rear main seal is known to be a leaking point for oil.  I had it replaced when the engine was rebuilt.  This is around the time that you might want to start to thinking about getting the engine "refreshed" in this way.  There should be a dimmer knob on the instrument cluster.

I had an oil leak, large one, was coming from the preasure switch sender.

My cruise also out for some reason, I think I have a leak in a hose somehwere.

My lights in the cluster when out.  So I bought a pack of 10 bulbs 1.6W I think, and painted them red, and soldered them in.  That was my solution to that.
