The engine (crank) is rated for 420bhp, at the wheels (what you actually get/use) its under 400, not sure what it is exactly.

isn't bhp measured from the motor?

A lambo produces more "low end torque" sitting in garage than an A4 with BT does at 4k rpms pushing 30 psi.

horsepower at the crankshaft is called braking horsepower (bhp). Wheel horsepower is called wheel horsepower. (whp)

The 420 hp figure is crank horsepower, you will dyno less to your wheels as a result of drivetrain loss. Most car manufacturers measure horsepower at the motor unless otherwise stated.

Guys,  its actually around 245kw atw, at least australian models.  or 331 bhp whichever you prefer.   Awesome for a quattro drivetrain, 20-30% loss of power.

Amazing congrats to the boys at Ingolstadt.

300 whp sounds kinda low.  I was at Waterfest Saturday and a kid with a 04' S4 pulled 290 whp on the dyno with just a cat-back exhaust.  That would put him at about 348 hp at the crank.
