Default Replace rotors at 56,000 miles ???

Hi,

Could someone confirm that it is not unusual to replace both front and back rotors at 56,000 miles already? The car is a family vehicle and has been driven conservatively. Model A6 Wagon 2001 2.8 L Quattro.

Thanks in advance.

Default RE: Replace rotors at 56,000 miles ???

My dealer replaced all the pads at 50K mi. At 119K mi. the rear
brakes started grinding. At 120K mi. the front pad indicator came on.
I had all the pads replaced without cutting the rotors. I have 125K mi.
and the brakes work OK. I used Beck/Arnley semi-metalic pads.

It's not that unusual to change the rotors @ almost 60kmi. Don't forget how heavy your car is, it's even more so, loaded with kids & kid gear. This will wear the brakes faster.
