I just got my new 18's on my 2.7t, it is a 2000. This means it has huge brake calipers that barely rub against the new rims. So no go for the moment. Should I get spacers I think 5mm would be enough. Let me know if anyone has done this and if they had any problems.

You will be fine with 5mm spacers. Just make sure you get "hubcentric" ones.

Ihad 8mm Spacers and never had problems. Itwill also help with look depending on Offset.
What ET are yor rims? and are you lowered?

Hey I am not lowered, regular a6 suspension so it should clear. I am not sure about what you mean with ET?

ET is offset, meaning the distance from the center line. A spacers adds to the offset, so a 25ET with a 5mm spacer will now be a 20et.

I have a 2000 2.7 too. I have a 18 X 8.5 wheel with 35mm offset and a240-40 tire. I had to get a 5mm spacer. Don't buy the cheap universal spacers. They don't fit correctly and your wheels could come of while driving. I know that from experience. I had to get a front end alignment and paint my fender.Eibach makes a spacer kit specifically for our cars. They also include the longer lug bolts you will need because you can't use the stock ones with spacers. I bought two kits, one for the front and back,and got them delivered for about $145. You can go to the Eibach website for links on where to buy them. Good luck.

Yes ET is offset, I was asking b/c when changing wheels and especially when adding spacers you got to take all those factors into account, how low the car is, what the wheel offset is....
Spacers are great to help clear brakes and put the wheels athe edge of the fenders, which looks GREAT! But if your offset is already low, spacers could put your wheels too far out for your taste, but 5mm isn't much.
I had those, they were great and lighter than my old H&R
