The lenses of the front fog lights on my A3 have, yet again, been cracked by flying stones. I have considered putting a small, suitably shaped piece of clear perspex over the lenses to protect them but, before I go about making this, has anyone come across fog light protectors or designed anything else themselves to do the same job?

Any ideas that save me the money of replacing lenses/fog lights every so often will be gratefully received!

if perspex is thick plastic adhesive (much like the transparent bra being advertised) then that would be your best bet IMO.

if not... hey! i got an idea! how about a thick sheet (like 2mm thick) of plastic adhesive, which 3M more than likely sells. cutting that and sticking it to your foglights will definatly save em. unless you're taking on mamoth sized stones... in which case only chicken wire will save you. it'd still look stock, you're not going to have any noticible light loss, and you can just replace it when the plastic gets too dinged up.

Thanks, those are the lines I was thinking along, I just wanted to see if anyone had tried the same. I'll give it a go (once I get the bloody fog light fixed!).

By the way, Perspex is stiff, clear plastic that we use in the UK. I guess it is a trade name.
