REAR ENDED !! need new exaust
 

k guys, I got rear ended tonight and my bumper is done for. Also, more importantly, my exaust is all pushed up and bent, so i think im gettin a new exaust. I cant seem to locate the price of the stock exaust online, do any of you know off hand? Its a 2003 1.8 T quattro. Im thinkin i can upgrade and pay the difference, and get that exaust i always wanted. Also, i smelled some burning oil after the collision.....wonder what that could be. My turbo wasnt affected by the bent exaust....although the deformation almost made it there.

i would get the oil smell checked out. i got rear ended in my first B5 and the milltek exhaust had been pushed forward and bent down. the car ended up being deemed totalled. but later on, i started it one last time before the insurance company took it, and i noticed a strong scent of oil burning. the shop said that the exhaust being pushed in actually cracked the heads and caused some other serious engine damage, i didnt really care to listen since the car wasn't mine anymore. but anyway imho before you settle with insurance , make sure to get EVERYTHING checked out.

Ok got the quote. 1033.00 with the markup for stock exaust repair. Thats about what an APR exaust costs if i get it myself....SWEET! I may make out ok on this
