Default A HYAUNDI Sonata???!!!

Well I was driving around with my friend and he says that he should race me in his parents 07 Hyundai Sonata. I assumed that I would win. However, coming home and looking it up, I see that it could very easily be a close match judging by the specs of each car... if I lost to a Sonata i would be very sad... That thing has 234hp though and is supposedly like 400 lbs. lighter.... What do you guys think. We probably will never race but i am just thinking theoretically.

No way man!!! is that 2.7 stock??? It should beat that thing even if it weren't you got a crap load more traction from a stand still and the sonata would never catch you.

Yeah it's stock, I am jsut looking at numbers.

Well after i go APR and get VAST DPs, then the Sonata would bow to the ~340 HP!

A nissan maxima would dust your car like it wasn't even there. The cops use several of them asun-marked units out here is sac.

My brother in laws rental car was an 07 Sonata. I was very impressed with the direction Hyaundi has gone. A good frind of mine back in high school had a Scoop and it was ok, but nothing special. His Sonata I drove handled well, the interior was nice for a 21k car, the breaks were firm, ac was amazing. Overall I felt it was a good car, your money would be better spent on an Accord/Camry though.

I have the 2.8l engine, so just about any car can take me I would assume, don't know, never race.

If the Hyaundi is fresh off the lot and the Audi is a little beat down then you might have some competition but you should still be able to handle him. What ive noticed is that after a few thousands mile those hyuandis drive like crap.

Second the Maxima statment up there... Those Maximas from the current years body style to the one just before the current year are wicked quick for a off the line. The autos will even light the front tires up through second gear. Ive never driven a 4.2 but Id guess that it'd be a good race.
