This is a pic of my maf off my evo, however when i cleaned my audi maf it looked just as bad. the hp increase was noticeable so get some electrical cleaner and spray it down.

lol.

whats the symtoms of a dirty or clogged maf. i have a 2.8L.
i have a KnN cone, which i have just recharged, how will i know if the oil is getting to it. ive had a flat KnN insert for a year then i have had this cone for almost 2 years. 3 years withthe oily KnN but i havnt had any problems (which i know of).
if someone could help me out on that one please, then i will know what to look for.
oh, and is it just any old electrical cleaner to clean a 2.8L 12V MAF? i dont wanna go buggering it up lol

CRC electronics cleaner is the only cleaner i use for my MAF. If you recharged it properly you shouldn't have any issues. If you notice a weird idle or poor response then clean it. i would clean it in about 5k regardless... its easy

Anyone got a pic of where the MAF is in the B6A4 1.8T? I don't even know where the hell that thing is or how to get it out.

it's mounted on the top of your airbox. couple screws, unclip the wire, and out she comes.
