always have to replace the front rotors when you replace front brake pads, or is this just recommended?
I am fairly new to my Audi, and i have searched but no really solid answer on these questions.
What kind of rotors and brake pads do you all use?
I do not need cross-drilled or slotted at the moment, as i have not began my performance modifications yet, but i would like a good rotor and brake pad that will last and will not squeak. . .
Thanks in advance!

get mintex red box pads, the wear is low and it seems that i will have to replace my rotors that ive had on for 2 years before the pads. they have 3/4ths life. its crazy

feel the rotors. if they have any waves or grooves in them, replace them, if not, just change the pads.

most rotors have tram lines on them but it dosnt mean you have to replace them ( that's normal ) only replace them when you think they are too thin and you can tell that by the edge/lip on the outer of the rotor and in most cases it will make a lot of scraping noise
if i have this (O) light on, i kmnow it means low brake fluid or pads need to be replaced, but i just went out on my lunch break and the pads look to have 75+percentlife left! i also know that the inside pads can ware a lot faster but that would have to be a JURASTIC difference. . . is it possible that i just have a sensor loose??
If your brake light is on, and your saying you have 75% life left, and you think the rear pad on the front brake is low, thats where your computer gets its info...there is an actual wire off your rear pad on the front rotor...that might be your problem...pop both your front rims off...and check...or try crankin the wheel all the way over one way and see if you can see anything...ohh wait...it might be hard due to the dust shield.....i would know i did all new cross drilled and slotted rotors and Mintex red box pads on front and rear of my 03 A4 1.8Tq

I just replaced my pad's and rotors . Somehow when i bought the car a couple months ago i never did check the brakes.. there was no material left on the pad, strait up metal on metal baby! so i had to replace all 4 .. feels better, i got X drilled and slotted with ebc pads.. big difference!
