Default Axle

Man im having some real shitty luck with this a4 1.8 T i bought about 4months ago ((68,000 miles when purchased). The turbo went out and flooded the car with oil. Cost me $3000 dollars. Now the mechanic tells me that the front axles are damaged and both need to be replaced $700 each. Anyone now were I can buy a quality axle at a reasonable price please help. Turbo's dont die that early... Sounds like whoever owned it before youtook shitty care of it... How you damage an axle is beyond me, unless you were off roading. Is it bad CV joints? $700 each is rape. You can get both done for abouthalf that at any honest shop. Depends on where they get the parts from I guess... But either way, $700 is too much. Get parts from:
www.getcoolparts.com
www.ecartoys.om
www.purems.com
www.ecstuning.com

Find someone/mechanic who will install parts for you off the books or on the side for less than $70/hour. or figure it out yourself, most things arent hard as long as you have tools.

yeah 700 each is rapeage. it should be roughly 500 for both installed, take to pepboys or something. autozone was selling me an axle for 125 and id get like 50 back with a core exchange, and then labor or you do it yourself is like 2 hours each side or roughly 300.
