Default A4 black lowers (factory skirts)

quick one. Should i get my standard black skirt lowers painted the same colour as the car?

There is no right or wrong; yes or no answers to this question. Only personal opinion(s).

While it does look better to have your lowers painted the biggest problem is that if you do get them painted and you scrape, say, the front lower lip, it will look like crap afterwards.

If you do get them painted, just be sure the paint shop puts a flex-additive into the paint. This will help the paint "bend" as those pieces are stressed. Most shops will do this automatically given the nature of where they are located, and what they are made of, but none-the-less, be sure you mention it to them. If they don't put in a flex-additive, chances are it will flake off over time and you'll wish you'd never had them painted.

I have a white A4 and i too was going to get my lowers painted, but decided against it after much consideration.

My opinion is to take that money and invest intosome upgrades first......chip, turbo, wheels, suspension, etc.
