Default 1996 a4 amplifier installation.

whats up guys. i have 2 jl audio 12"s and a alpine 700 watt amp. i want to do the job myself. i know i need a 4 gauge installation kit and all that stuff. does anyone know the easiest way to hook up the amp to the battery. i know i need to wire it through the door sills. but, wut is the easist way to get the wire into the car, through the firewall?

Yes, you'll have to go through the firewall (sorta). The way i ran mine was that i took off the pollen filter cover, removed the pollen filter, and ran the cable down through the cabin behind the glovebox. There's just enough room aroundthe climate control fan housing to squeeze your cable through.

To me, that was the easiest way to run it without actually having to drill through the firewall itself.

I ran mine down the drivers side, I put it through the hood release cable hole, down the drivers footwell, and ran it under the trim to the trunk.

If you do this, just make sure you get the hood release grommet sealed up with some silicon or something so the water doesnt get in.

i took off the pollen cover and ran mine through the ECU cover. uner that the is a 1.5" x 4in hole for all of the ecu wires to get the fire wall
