rk_online_here -> tie rod (6/10/2007 10:48:00 PM)

the fact that i'm not seeing any posts here makes me think that my situation may be pretty unique... frustrating deal... love the Q7. never any problem. but in the last week... the tie rod on my vehicle bent - a lot - maybe 10-15 degrees. no freakin' clue how it happened. i'm the only driver. the problem showed up as an e-s-p warning light with difficulty steering. it happened about 5 miles down the road from my leaving a car wash. it's one of the nicer car washes in town... fully automated... well staffed... they take your vehicle from you & guide it on to tracks that come ~3 inches off the ground... (tie rod's a good foot off the ground) runs thru this automated system & then several people are involved in wiping down the vehicle at the end of the wash. i never saw a problem with the vehicle in the wash - tho i didn't see the whole wash. audi customer service tells me there's no way i could have bent the rod like that - and not known it. any ideas?? couldn't get any really good answers from service... and, of course, the car wash place maintains they did nothing wrong with my vehicle. if any of the readers here have any ideas... or know of any other problems like this... i'd appreciate it. rk
