I have been looking for something to do to my car over the summer such as mods and making it more "me".  I have already debadged and to those of you who read my debadging thread know i am fixing the scratch and then posting pics.  I also have been looking toward smoked tail lights and side blinkers.  I am not sure what else to do so if anyone has any sugestions please feel free to add them. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c309/Polka_Salad/100_2353.jpg

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c309/Polka_Salad/100_2355.jpg
just some pictures I took with my exchange students point and shoot camera to show his family back in germany who i am supporting  I will take my nice camera out and take more (better) pics once I get the paint thing done, I am getting a buffer (well borrowing) tomorrow so I should get it fixed then.
http://s30.photobucket.com/albums/c309/Polka_Salad/ the other pictures there are just of my friends and I pranking a kids dodge neon.  It kind of deserved it (well he did too)....we are in high school what else do you expect? (sarran wrap and vaseline)
p.s. Also went online just to look for smoked lights and found these http://www.parts4euro.com/cgi-bin/PPStore/ppstore.cgi?database=Products&action=view_product&productID=20025&category=8
good bad? any other sugestion? any imput is welcome and appreciated

How about tinting the windows and getting the chrome mirror covers...

No pics of the back. You could get a Euro plate surround and a Euro plate to go with it.

Other little things I would do (depending on if it is legally allowed), get both rear fogs to work.

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c309/Polka_Salad/100_2744.jpg the back before debadging
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c309/Polka_Salad/100_2745nb.jpg closer pic of the back this time without the badges (this is just the photoshopped image I did to see how it would look)
I was thinking about window tinting would it be worth it painting the car?

My A6 was purchased in Michigan (by the original owner) and both rear fog lights are operational.

As a suggestion, do a thorough CAREFUL detailing of the car.  There are lots of nooks and crannies to clean, especially in the engine compartment.  Lots of places to wax.  Cleaning the carpeting and using ArmorAll or McGuire's products on the wood, vinyl, rubber, and leather is important.  All this takes is attention to detail, patience, and not much money.  Plus you get to know your car intimately and will find any potential problems or leaks early.

Open a beer, light a cigar, and have fun.  Oh..wait...you're in high school.  Forget the cigar, it's bad for you.

I would say tint the tailights and side marker, I did mine and they look great(silver car though). I get a lot of looks
As for other upgrades, I would get a set of new shoes(wheels), paint the brake calipers, tint the windows, remove the yellow amber reflector in the headlights(so they look clear, like the aftermarket ones).
Then I would look for performance parts, starting with a chip and K&N filter or intake and so o and so forth.

What are the rear fog lights? the red ones by the lisense plate?
I really want to tint the tail lights and side markers and get new rims and tint the windows.  I should get it all clean before I do that though.  I am not sure how much it would cost to paint the car, if anyone has an idea that would be great and would it be worth it to get my desired look?

i was looking on eBay (well on google and it brought me to eBay) and I found these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/19-black-Audi-Wheels-Rims-A4-S4-A6-S6-A8-S8-rs4-rs6_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43959QQihZ004QQitemZ140128048809 are 19" rims too big? I was looking for 18's initially for the price savings but these are a steel it seems.  Any opinions on buying rims on abey? I have done a lot of buisness there and haven't had a problem. Thanks for any help

Just got done with a rough (very rough) idea picture of what my car might look like from one angle after I finish.  (just new rims and tinted windows) I am not too sure about the rims yet so if anyone has an idea of some that would look sweet feel free to post a picture or link.  I am looking for 18's I think and if the price is right possibly 19's (trying to keep it under 1500 for rims and wheels so it might be kind of a pinch) http://s30.photobucket.com/albums/c309/Polka_Salad/?action=view&current=100_2354copy2.jpg

Here is a picture I just finished of the back with the smoked tailights and tinted back window. Again just a quick rough idea as to what it will look like.  I am thinking of getting as my license plate : FETZIG http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c309/Polka_Salad/100_2744copy.jpg

Looks good, as for the wheels go, it's up to you. Those black wheels do look nice, as I was considering them too but not from Ebay.
Lowering the car would be nice with 19's.

Well I went to the soccer fields today after stopping at a charity car wash to wash my car.  Got some free hot dogs and pop but they didn't dry the thing so there are spots on it but here are the pictures I took (only some)  http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c309/Polka_Salad/DSC_0018.jpg

I take it you need to purchase new tailights for it to look the best or am I mistaken?  Also is it hard to remove the yellow?

I was on Andy's Auto Sport and looked at springs to lower my car http://www.andysautosport.com/audi/1997_2004_a6/suspension/springs/b_g/ are there better springs? any other places that might have more? also would it be a DIY job for someone like me who has never done anything like that before or would I be better just taking it in? Thanks for the help

Those wheels do look nice.

With 19" wheels you won't have a lot of rubber. I hope where you drive the roads are good. You don't want to damage those rims.

Also bear in mind that if you do require a replacement, you may have to wait a bit for the same pattern to become available, unless you are lucky and live where the size is readily available. Puncture repair (I've been unfortunate in that I have to end up changing my tire) will become a lot more expensive.

Then again, if you were so practical, you wouldn't have purchased an Audi

No idea if you will have to change to winter tires from your 19's.

I live in a place where I don't really need winter tires....
