Default Keyless Ignition Problem on 2005 A6 4.2

After only 2 weeks and 300 miles, the keyless "Start Engine" botton on my 2005 A6 4.2 stopped working [:@]. Bluetooth worked fine with the car door entry and exit, but could not get the car to start and had to use the key. Took it to the dealership and they said they would replace it ASAP but showed me that if I "punched" the "Start" key it would actually work. They were correct, but I don't like punching the button (have to really hit it hard). Anyone heard of this problem?

Also, I need to get a new mobile phone to interact with the Bluetooth/MMI....any suggestions?

Can't believe the Audi tech said to "punch" the button. How lame is that?

Motorola v551 is a good flip phone w/ bluetooth.

I agree it's lame, but I'm just the messanger here! Would you register a complaint about such a suggestion?

And thanks, ImolaS4, for the wireless phone recommendation!

No, I'd raise my eyebrow at the guy and say that's not an acceptable answer for a problem with a luxury car. I'd wait for him to respond appropriately, but would still ask to speak with the GM about the issue if I wasn't satisfied. Always be polite, move up to the next guy in command, and remain convicted.
