Default transmission problems

I have a 1997 A8,my transmission had problems getting out of first gear.I have to get my rpms up to 2,000 for it to go into second.I changed the transmission oil and filter and still have the same problems. All the other gears are fine and the car runs smooth. All the gear lights are on all the time on my dashboard.I had my friend bring his laptop and check with his OBD11 program and the DTC reported a P0730
error of gear ratio incorrect.Would this car need a new transmission or is it a computer problem?
Thanks,windrain

Default RE: transmission problems

P0730 = incorrect gear ratio possible causes are
wiring, TR sensor/switch, shift solenoids, transmission mechanical fault
