My car has this like slightly transparent sticker kind of thing that is on the back wheel well and goes into the door jamb. Has anyone peeled this off? Since my car is silver, it kind of looks tacky since it is a slight shade of yellow. I am afraid to peel it off though because the paint underneath has been protected by it the whole time and will probably look a different shade than the rest of the car. Anyone else ever done this, will it be ok?

It looks slightly yellow too. I was wondering if it was factory or aftermarket. I was actually concerned that it was some sort of body work cover up, as I just bought my car this month. I have read about the clear bras from 3m and such and was wondering if it was basically the same stuff. I am really happy that there is another owner with the same thing,m which tells me the car likely came like this from Audi. alias- do you have this sticker on both sides of your car, or just on the passenger side? Thanks again for posting this. I have been doing a lot of searching and was going to ask this question myself.

Same thing on mine, also silver. It's on both sides, and is just slightly yellowed. It's a minor thing, but I notice it...

Since I only have it on one side, I would assume one side was ripped off already... it looks fine. I may get the old hair dryer out and peel this one off too. Yellowish plastic stickers do nothing for me. I'm probably going to detail this weekend, so I'll decide what I am going to do then. Did they only put these on Silver A6s or what? Three owners so far, all silver.

FOUR silver owners. Both sides, slightly yellow. I'm not thrilled with them but I prefer the plastic to constantly trying to touch up rock pings, which would look worse. When I bought my car (with 37k miles) there were a lot of missing paint chips on the bumper and even after touch up, it didn't look original. So I put on a bra (on the car, not on me).

My silver avant has them. I would assume that all A6's have them, not just the silver ones.

I have them as well, my audi is Ming Blue, but I assumed they were part of the clear bra that was put on (same kind of stuff on hood and side mirrors). They had some slight swirls in them but they buffed right out with some Meguiars. <--Might make yours clear again... worth a try

same boat....silver...turned yellow..really friggin ugly. I have the clear on the side mirrors but nothing on the front. I wouldnt peel them off unless I knew I was replacing them. Does the buffer really take out the yellow? Anybody tried?

Silver, got 'em, yellowing. Not concerned as dings are worse. If they could be replaced, I would consider it, but since I only notice when I wash the car, I don't really care.

I have a white A6 and when I bought it I only had the one (very yellowed variety) on the passenger side. I got to looking at it one day and decided to pull it off, because a little discolored paint was going to be better than the obviously yellow "sticker" which is much more obvious on white than any other color. I didn't use a heat gun, and frankly didn't need to. I just pulled from the top in a fairly quick motion and the adhesive came off with the decal all in one swoop. I did go over the spot with some Goo Gone just for good measure, but I couldn't feel or see any residue even before doing so. My fear about faded paint was unfounded, because I simply cannot tell where the sticker was. In my opinion they stickers aren't required since rocks are more likely to hit below that point anyway, and since my driver's side never had one and I don't see any evidence of rock chipping I'm not about to run out and replace them. However - if you are worried about it I have heard they are in fact available from the dealer so you can replace them if you so desire.
