I want one so bad and will admit that I can't afford a new one. I have this hope that in about four years or so I will be able to pick one up with about 35k-40k miles on it for a reasonable price. So far I'm seeing them used popping up for the $65k-$69k range. I'm hoping that I'll be able to snag one for about $35k-$40k in about for years.
I got my current S4 for $29k with 45k on the clock. I'm admittedly a weekend driver with both my TT and S4. My A4 does all the work. I figure that my S4 will have no more than 60k on the clock when I go to sell it. I'm hoping that I will be able to pull about $20k out of it then. I've chipped it already and am going to do a full exhaust on it. Probably the APR or the ASP exhaust. They are about the same price. I can't see spending the money on the Milltek system on a car that I don't plan to keep.
I'm guess maybe I'm being a little premature. I love my S4, but like anyone addicted to these cars I want more. I've driven the RS4, and that was the worst thing I could have done. I can't get it out of my mind.
So the B7 based car will be in the price range I was estimating based on Audi's own lease buyout.... that's pretty much what I expected. Yeah, I know that by the time it comes to pick one of these up in that price range that there will be another delightful jewel that has more power, more refinement and more I WANT factor. It's just the way it is with these cars. After all, Audi is in business to sell NEW cars, not just service used ones. Oh well, I think I can live with the last one before the newest. In the meantime I'll just enjoy my S4. It's a great car.
