Default A3 3.2 changing cabin air filter

I want to replace the cabin air filter, but I can only find replacement instructions for old A3 models, mine is a '06 3.2 A3, can someone explain where/how to replace the cabin air filter in this model? Your help is appreciated.

I found it ! The cabin filter for an A3 2006-08, it's located underneath and behind the glove box, need to unscrew a couple of plastic screws, then there is cover you can slide to the left to uncover the filter. Just changing the filter and cleaning up the vents takes care of that bad smell typical from audi vehicles when you start the AC. Audi issued a technical bulletin 87-06-03 'Unpleasant Odor from Heating and Ventilation System (Aug. 28, 2006)' where they advise the dealers about this problem.

So you access it from inside the cabin, right? Any idea on how often it should be changed?

Dealer says every 15k, and they do get pretty dirty in the A3 for some reason.

It is recommended to change it once a year or every 12-15K, whatever comes first.

yes, access is from inside the cabin, it is right next to the firewall, you will have to be resting on your back looking up to see it.

Is this a simple fifteen-minute job or are the plastic screws and plastic cover darn near impossible to access?
