Guys, any help would be appreciated. I bought this audi 90, and it does not run. I am working on getting it going, and seen this connector unplugged. A shady tech was working on it, so I am really wondering! Any help would be SOOOOO appreciated. It is a 1990 Audi 90 5 cyl NT.

the connector could be not used for any thing ,,, but check near by for a place to plug it in

in the mean time check for spark then fuel and then start looking for vacum leaks

the connection is probably used for newer cars and redundant on yours so what exactly is the problem?

The problem is that the car wont even crank when I turn the key. I can jump the starter, but it does not move to engage the flywheel. Well, a tech at a dealer told me just jumping the starter wont engage the flywheel..... Well, I closely observed the fact today that when I turn the key tumbler (where you put the key to start the car) you turn it all the way to start, but the key doesnt shoot back, and its like its never going to the start position. I think I am going to try to put a new ignition tumbler and key into the car. I pulled the little rubber thing where the lock sits on my 90, but cant see how to get it out, how hard is it to change it?
Thanks

Its some sort of test plug. As far as the ignition switch goes its not a bad job. I saw a post somewhere on this site how to change it. You can buy the switch from World Impex for $28. 1-800-736-3550. I remove the steering wheel (some people don't) then remove instument cluster. Thier are two set screws on the top of each leg. Look for paint marks. The paint should be on the screw itself so you will need to remove it. Remove the plug/connector from the switch. It may be difficult to see the top of the switch so you may want to use an inspection mirror to look to see exactly what you need to do. Once you find the screws back them out. You do not have to remove them. The switch should pull backwards out of the metal holder. Install/reassemble in reverse order. Make sure switch is seated correctly. Connect battery and test. Good luck.
