Default Becca's got the Mod Bug!!

I'm thinking it's time for a flash! APR is out of the question, because the shops here in the Southern Jersey area are no good.
So I'm left between GIAC and Revo... I'm mostly looking for shops that have the best service.
Seeing as they are all practically the same for a simple 93 Octane flash. I'd like to get this done today; seeing it's my only day off.

So vote based on your experience with customer service and support!

I'd go Revo...I have it and LOVE it. Then again my opinion is just that an opinion. I have never driven a TT flashed with the other programs.

Have you had any problems with it? If so, did the shop promptly correct the issue?

No issues at all. I picked my 225 up in Jan 07 and had it flashed 3 weeks later. It's a daily driver and no issues to report so far!

Here's some info from fellow "flashers"...(did that last part sound alittle odd to you too?)

APR: High boost, better in mid to high RPMs
GIAC: Well balanced, noticable torque increase (warrenteed if comp fries)
Revo: Mostly performance related, shop will tune settings if you don't like it.

I say go REVO...

That's good to hear. I'm leaning more towards Revo also, because if I ever go BT it won't cost too much more.

Thats true...you can just buy the SPS 2 and it comes with software and cable that you can tweak on a laptop and alter settings. The code is already in the flash you just need the SPS software to manually tweak it. You can also switch from diferent octane levels by just flipping a switch on the unit itself. There is a more detailed "how to" on Revo's site withscreen shotsof the software and all of it's features.

I had a trial flash of Revo. It was good. Not as noticeable as I had thought it was going to be. I wanted something a little more agressive. I wish I could try GIAC.

However you mentioning shop names in your poll I'm guessing you really only care to hear from those living in dirty jersey and access to those shops.

I have AWE GIAC and its very impressive. i was at Volkraft Canada and there was 5 TTs there so we hit up some autocross and 1/4 mile runs. Stock 225 vs GIAC 180 both QTro the GIAC takes it. 225 was running DV and open element filter.

APR Chip didnt specify 93or91+ on a 180 QC vs my GIAC 180 QC ... off the line no match, seems like the spool is faster with giac.

i can tell you this though: full warranty if there is any issue with the chip. ez to flash, and if u go to a AWE tuner they can flash any prog on there for you and adjust to whatever BT setup you want. Warranty limited to DYI soldering... in other words DONT F@#@ with it .. let them clean their own mess.

drawbacks: a lot of oomph in 1st and 2nd. you will have to get used to driving your car again.. it really changes the way it behaves so expect some jerky shifting until you get used to the new powerband.

2nd drawback: if you get MBC ... you have to be willing to play around with it for a week or so until you get the right setting it both for onset and for max boost. but when you got it ... man does it go !! but it is very picky as to what she likes. im thinking bout going n75 race .. gotta iqnuire with steve 1st .

im tryign to give you an honest opinion based on my experience.

another suggestion is go for 91+ here we get pump gas up to 94oct.
but u never know when you will not be able to find 93+ better be safer than sorry .. thats my personal opinion.

regardless of the chip, you must be aware that in order to get the "claimed" gains from any REVO APR GIAC Etc... chips you have to do a series of mods. intake + DV + exhaust ... if you must nly pick one then Exhast is definetely the way to go.

just some ideas for you to consider.

IF YOU WANT TO PLAY YOU GOTTA PAY
