I have AWE GIAC and its very impressive. i was at Volkraft Canada and there was 5 TTs there so we hit up some autocross and 1/4 mile runs. Stock 225 vs GIAC 180 both QTro the GIAC takes it. 225 was running DV and open element filter.
APR Chip didnt specify 93or91+ on a 180 QC vs my GIAC 180 QC ... off the line no match, seems like the spool is faster with giac.
i can tell you this though: full warranty if there is any issue with the chip. ez to flash, and if u go to a AWE tuner they can flash any prog on there for you and adjust to whatever BT setup you want. Warranty limited to DYI soldering... in other words DONT F@#@ with it .. let them clean their own mess.
drawbacks: a lot of oomph in 1st and 2nd. you will have to get used to driving your car again.. it really changes the way it behaves so expect some jerky shifting until you get used to the new powerband.
2nd drawback: if you get MBC ... you have to be willing to play around with it for a week or so until you get the right setting it both for onset and for max boost. but when you got it ... man does it go !! but it is very picky as to what she likes. im thinking bout going n75 race .. gotta iqnuire with steve 1st .
im tryign to give you an honest opinion based on my experience.
another suggestion is go for 91+ here we get pump gas up to 94oct.
but u never know when you will not be able to find 93+ better be safer than sorry .. thats my personal opinion.
regardless of the chip, you must be aware that in order to get the "claimed" gains from any REVO APR GIAC Etc... chips you have to do a series of mods. intake + DV + exhaust ... if you must nly pick one then Exhast is definetely the way to go.
just some ideas for you to consider.
