All right, there seems to be a good number of gun owners kickin' around here, and I was just curious as to what you all carry on a daily basis. I carry my Beretta .40 9000s Type F with the rear sight removed and it's either full of Hydra-Shock or Silver Glasers.

I do not carry a gun, but am curious what you have to do to be able to do so? I live in Illinois. Im 22. etc.
and also, what kind of gun would you reccomend for the average gun novice?

Heehee, I love that I carry 12+1 in my 10+1 gun. Extended magazines kick ass.

I don't know anything about Illinois gun laws, and as far as a good recomendation, you really have to spend some time with them and get a feel for different guns and calibers.

My 1st and currently only gun is a Ruger .40 P94 w/rubber grips. I like it but want a .38 revolver next then maybe a beretta 9mm because they are really nice and accurate.

If you have the $ get the beretta 9mm. To carry in IL we need a good reason (job) to qualify. If you apply and say for protection or something like that it will be denied.

I just did a quick search and apparently permits to conceal are completely prohibited.
