Took 10mm spacers, 35mm bolts and 225/40R18s to get a decent fit.  Personally, these wheels are some of the best looking C5 A6 combos I have seen.  That's me though, and I am biased.

He's right about the suspension height, but those rims are real classy looking.  How much did they set you back?

Tires are the exact same height as the stock tires so it sits like stock.  The lower profile and 18's make them look smaller. She might be getting a 1" suspension treatment soon to sit her down.  I paid about $1200 for the set, $400 for wheels, $200 for spacers and $600 for brand new Goodyear tires.

What did you have before that made you want to "upgrade" to a different stock looking wheel?

I think your idea of a 1" drop should help quite a bit, because right now it looks like an Allroad, but the width looks dead on.

16x7" stock 9 spokes for the stock 2.8 2000.  DEFINITE UPGRADE!  Sometimes subtle changes are as nice as all out mods.

Looking at your before and after pics there is no comparison.  The size and style of your new wheels is tenfold better.  Actually changes the entire look of your car, and I can see your ride height hasn't changed - I think my perception is off because I'm used to looking at my 2.7T with the sport springs.

For wheels I like something a little less "stock" looking myself (I really like the RS4 wheels since you don't see them around), but if we all liked the same stuff it sure would be boring, so congrats.

I'm not knocking your rims decision so dont get me wrong.

I was thinking about getting a set of 18" chrome RS rims to replace my 17" RS rims, but I desided that I was gonna get a set of 19" aftermarkets ( TSW ) for about $1500 with tires. You could have got a set of nice summer time rims for the same price as the stock rim you just got. I'm not knocking your decision, but if you didnt like your rims, you could have used them for the winter.

True that.  The summer v. winter argument is valid.  It's all good dude, it's a discussion forum.

Personally, I don't want my car to look stock for 5 months a year (Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar).  It is a daily driver, and I will get to enjoy my 18s and car's appearance 365.  I won't have to worry about keeping 2 sets up, mounting/unmounting a few times a year, etc.  I strongly dislike my stockers.  Too narrow and too plain for such an attractive car.  Maybe if I had some better take offs...

Also I would rather buy a damn good set of high performance all seasons then 1 set of so-so set of summer and 1 so-so set of winter tires.  My stockers needed new tires too and I didn't feel like paying for 8 tires.

I have always liked 'tweaked' looks of stock setups.  Just my style.  Something that looks sharp and people can't tell if it's stock or not.

Other things to consider that I thought about is, I am going to sell the 16" wheels/tires, and I already have a buyer for $400, so that brings my cost down to $800.  I sold the takeoff tires from the 18s and the OEM tire pressure monitor sensors for $300, which brings my cost down to $500.

kept looking at those pictures and looking at the car, and I thought, damn those pictures look a lot higher then the car looks when I look at it.  Then it hit me.  I took those pictures right after I took it off the jack and before the suspension settled back down.  Here is what the car looks like normally-

Car deffinatley looks better. Not how I would spent 1200 but better is better. If i am spending that kind of money though i want my car to start to stand out from every other A6 and for me those rims dont do it.

My car does stand out from every other A6.  I haven't ever seen or heard of another C5 A6 with C6 A6 wheels on it.  As far as I know, I am the only one who has done it.  Wheel choices for the A6 aren't unlimited, ... of course I did see someone stuff Lamborghini wheels on an A6 so maybe that isn't true.

I don't need to beat a dead horse.  Different strokes for different folks.  I love the look and in the end, that's all that matters.

I had c6 a6 wheels on mine before I traded it in. I used the 9 spoke 17" with 245/45/17 off the 3.2 however, I didn't have to use all the spacers and special stuff. Mine bolted right on and looked better than your 7 arms wheels in my opinion. Those look too massive for your c5, looks out of proportion. I also had the eibach lowering shocks and springs in and it sat much lower to the ground, much more in proportion than yours. You need to set that car on the ground to get it looking right.

I doubt it. it was the same color as yours with the 2.7t It looked really good with the 17's on. Only problem was it sat awfully low to the ground. Only 2.75" off ground at lowest point at front end. Not to good for winter snow travel.

I love those wheels. I put h&r sports on mine and I think it sits perfect. Yours will look awesome after you drop it. Nice job.
