i was wondering if anyone makes custom heat shields or custom air boxes for that intake....if not then what if i make it....myslelf..everything sealed and insulated... will it still suffer from heat soak???

YOu cant heat soak a filter...lol. If you are a 1.8t, dont worry about a heatsheild, the turbo will more than heat up the incoming air.
