If you have not resolved the problem, check out this post (and if you solved it have please post the solution - thats why this is here!!): http://www.audiforums.com/m_676363/tm.htm It could be that the brushes in the alternator are marginal and it is a low voltage anomoly. In my case, there were random flashes of oil pressure and temperature lights. Check out the post ... in my case it was a bosch alternator and the brushes are integral to the voltage regulator which was available at < $80 us. The alternator is ~$200. Also, in my case the alternator had been replace 6 years ago and was in pretty good shape. If it were original, I would just replace the alternator instead of just the voltage regulator.
