Hello,

My 96 Cabriolet has the low oil pressure light flashing when ever I get it over 2400RPM.  When it goes back below 2400RPM, it turns off.

Everything runs OK and sounds fine.

I checked the oil and it was in the middle of the dip stick so I topped it off.  This didn't help.

I had the engine flushed and that didn't help.

My next stop is my local mechanic (I'm guessing a bad sensor).

I was just wondering if there was anything else I could do before I start feeding my mechanic.

Thanks,

Marc

If you have not resolved the problem, check out this post (and if you solved it have please post the solution - thats why this is here!!):

It could be that the brushes in the alternator are marginal and it is a low voltage anomoly.  In my case, there were random flashes of oil pressure and temperature lights.

Check out the post ... in my case it was a bosch alternator and the brushes are integral to the voltage regulator which was available at  < $80 us. The alternator is ~$200.

Also, in my case the alternator had been replace 6 years ago and was in pretty good shape. If it were original, I would just replace the alternator instead of just the voltage regulator.
