Default Negotiating price on '08's?

Noob here, considering a 2008 6MT 2.0, LavaGraywith S-Line, Titanium, and Skyview. Can anyone tell me what kind of luck they are having on negotiating on the '08's? Dealer is offering 5% off ($34K sticker), though not sure what people are paying above invoice on the deals they are striking. Might make an offer tomorrow.

Default RE: Negotiating price on '08's?

Mine was over $36k msrp and my dealer offered to split the difference between msrp and invoice saving me just over $1500 from what I remember and that includes free tint.
I special ordered since I wanted roof rails.
They wouldn't go any lower on such a high priced A3 2.0T because they are taking a chance on me backing out and getting stuck with such a high dollar A3 that's too hard to sell.
That was understandable so I agreed with that.
I did have another offer from a dealer I knew from previous dealings that could have saved me another $600, but they were across town and I wanted to use the first dealer for service.

Noob here also. I ordered an A3 3.2 with almost everything except Nav. a month and a half ago. One dealer in my area went as low as $500 over invoice, but I went with the dealer close to my neighborhood for about $625 over invoice. Ihave a history of getting cleaned outby the dealers, so my guess is that for the A3 2.0's, you can do at leastas well, even it you're buying one fully optioned out. For special orders, you can probably be able to negotiate a decent price depending on where you live. Good luck.

If you are set on getting the titanium package then $500 - $750 over invoice is probably about as good a deal as you are going to find for an 08. If you don't really need the Ti package, then have you considered looking at holdover 07's? You should be able to get one of those below invoice right now. Especially if the dealer is having to pay to floorplan their inventory.

I'm considering an '07 A3 3.2. MSRP is $37,750. Invoice is about $35,250. Anyone know where the $1500 factory-to-dealer incentive is applied? MSRP? Invoice? Taking this extra $1500 incentive into account what should I be offering (before I heard about the $1500 factory-to-dealer incentive I was going to offer invoice)? Unfortunately the local dealer that has this car just doesn't seem to want to deal (but they do want to unload that '07).

The $1500 on 07's is off msrp. Then you should be able to get even more off from there. I've seen people getting below invoice on 07's when all said and done.

Thanks. When the $1500 gets taken off MSRP does the invoice go down by $1500 also, or does it just reduce the markup?

$1500 off msrp.
Invoice is what your dealer paid for it. That doesn't change.

There were no incentives on my 06 (purchased new Nov 06) and I was able to get it for invoice. By the time I factored in my trade, I was able to get the Tag/Tax/Title rolled in and my OTD price was still right at invoice.

I would think on an 07 you should be able to get them to go to invoice and MAYBE throw in the service plan (if they really want to get rid of a $35k A3)

Thanks. So if you're paying invoice then the $1500 factory-to-dealer incentive is irrelevent? Maybe it just incents them more to sell at invoice as by doing so they are still making $1500. Or am I missing something?
Digging a bit on the internet I'm finding that Audi have 4.9% financing (up to 60 months) on 2007 A3s. Or a 5.16% lease (not great but not awful either) for 24 & 36 months. Bit ONLY on 2007 models.
What is sick is that my dealers (I'm shopping three of them) originally said there are no special finance deals on 2007 A3s, until I showed them the info. Then they admitted such deals are available but that its those OR the incentive.

Do the 2007 & 2008 A3s stillinclude the 4yr free scheduled maintenance?
