I need to find a wiring diagram for my car so I can fix the speedo and oil light.

Pawz,
I have sent 14 pages of electrical schematics for the 84-88 5000 to another poster. If you want them, let me know, they may help.
They are in .exe form, just click and they open in their own viewer. About 3 megs total.
Electricals may be way different between the 2, then again, may be the same.
e-mail if you would like them.

Dear Pawz & Rolling Start,
Forgive me for jumping on the band wagon, but I have had my Audi 80 2L 16V Sport, first registered 1993, since Oct 1999, and most of the problems I have experienced have been electrical. Windows, Lights, Speedo, Central Locking, Security, etc, etc!
I've tried all over to get access to some wiring diagrams, with no success. Could you please advise me on where to look?

I thought you were talking to the wrong guy. Rolling Start threw me off, I guess that's a posting level.
No, for your car, I think you are going to have to get the Bentley's Book, or, if it is not the same thing, the Official Audi Shop Manual.
I've looked for the Haynes manual for my 90 Audi 100, and Haynes does not print it. (I do not know why, but their book list at auto parts says VW #70070 or some such is the one to look at.. They're shrinkwrapped, and be damned if I'll pay for a pig in a poke.
I can make you the same offer, scan and e-mail the turbo or non-turbo sections. If they're helpful, great. If not, a few electrons used up, delete them. They are from the 84 to 88 manual, so may not be pertinent, but I would think they add to or subtract from the old harness, rather than create a whole new schematic for each model run.
Your ball, just a few keystrokes to me.

I could really use those diagrams for my 88 5000 CDTQ. I have a couple of dash light issues and can only operate the windows from the drivers control.

Ain't this Internet thing amazing?
A few keystrokes, you can help someone a 1000 miles away. No skin off my nose, just click some keys. The scans were already on the machine, just find, attach.
Rogers means Canada, right?
In my vicinity, I don't know 3 people who drive Audis, and 1 mechanic used to come to my house for repair advice when some unfortunate brought 1 to him.
Fortunate, I am, that, in my condition, and at my age, my local mech is both sharp, and willing to learn. But he still hates them damned VWs with the A-arm type suspension that the 80 and 90 Audi seem to have.
Have fun with your car. They are damned fine pieces of machinery. And, should you check any other makers listed prices for parts, you gotta go back 20 years to find cheap replacement parts. My kid, just a few months ago, payed 700 USD to repace the fuel pump in a Dodge Dakota mini pickup. PEPBoys. How's that for rip-off?
Our hobby car isn't any more expensive than that.

IF pantha_pawz still has those wiring diagrams for the audi 5000 i sure could use a set of them. I have the wiring, switches and relays for the heated seats, and i need the diagrams to hook them up. Thanks.
Or if anyone else can help it would sure be appreciated.
