I am highly considering purchasing an '03 A6 2.7 Quattro. I am new to Audis and I want to make sure of a couple things. The car has 113K miles on it and the dealer wants $15K for it. The body is in great shape, the interior is about an 8 and the motor sounds and looks very clean. It also drives and handles very well. The only thing that has me concerned is the 113K miles. I also realize I need to make sure the vehicle has been through all it's scheduled maintenance. What I really need to know is....Is 113K miles really "alot" of miles for this type of engine? I've hear that timing belts and certain other things are issues with these cars also. So, is this a good idea to purchase this vehicle?? What do I need to know and consider??

For that price, you should be able to find a lower mileage car. I got mine with 59K (2002, 2.7T, M6, Sport, good condition) for $16,500 with about a year of CPO coverage. The belt had better be done already with that mileage. Turbos might be questionable too. You have to error on the side that the previous owner did not baby the turbos. IMO, keep looking.

I agree with the post above. I bought my 03 A6 2.7T for 17K with 57K miles on it in excellent condition. I did some mods on it and so far no mechanical or elctrical problems. I already put 10K miles on it and I am really happy with it!

Agree with the above. I bought an '02 with 45,000 mikes for $15,500. At 113,000 miles, it's a $9800 car. Keep looking.
