I have a little broblem with my oil temperature. When the car is started and not moving, it shows in the lower area on the gage, when you accelerate a little bit (right below 1000rpm) the temp needle goes up all the way instantly. If let off the gas peddle agian, it drops down again. Does anyone know the probelm?? Thanx

Sounds like an electrical short of some sort.
Do you mean that if you rev the engine above 1000rpms that the needle acts normally?

No, if the rpm is below 1000 rpm, the temp needle normal. As soon as RPM passes 1000, the temp jumps to 350 degrees.
The car is 1998 AUDI A6 QUATTRO 2.8L V6

Yeah, that sounds pretty obvious to me that it has to be some sort of servo and/or electrical problem. I'm not an expert in that area, so I can't advise any further on a remedy - outside of taking it in for service at a reputable Audi service center.
What year, model and engine do you have?
Do you have access to a VAG-COM? Maybe a VAG diagnosis could shed some light.
