Default A4 2.8Q Newbie ahoy!

Hi folks!

I've had my 1999 A4 2.8 30v Quattro for about a year now and i'm just considering doing some stuff with it now. The car has been untouched, both aesthetically and mechanically, and I was wondering what would be best to up-rate. I considered a bodykit and new alloys but then thought of an ecu upgrade (wolf in sheeps clothing!).

I'm new to modding and aint too mechanically gifted - so any advice would be much appreciated.

I live in Aberdeen, Scotland btw - so if anyone has the local knowledge that'd be cool

Cheers,

Phil

Have you checked out the audi-sport.net forums? I can't seem to get on the forum myself - it may be a browser problem for me - but they are based in the UK and the chaps there have a lot of local info to help with your questions.

If I recall, there is a UK tuner that is very popular. Many of the UK owner/drivers swear by it. I wish I could remember the name, but I can't recall right now.

My quick answers would be to get the engine tuned and install an exhaust system. Bodykits are very expensive for what you get in my opinion. Most folks do that mod last on their list unless they are interested in changing the aesthetics of the car only and don't want to change the performance.

By the way, of the non-turbo Audis, yours is the best of the bunch to modify and tune.

The forum was having trouble yesterday. It seems as though it was sorted out - it works now. Here's the link:
