Default HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it runs hella bad and smokes and the oil temp is now running at 120. smokes bad. IT was 100% good till i put in more oil, same oil I have used for ever. comes in a brown jug, and i added 4 qt of tranny fluid to the tanny filler tubebecause it was low, stuff in the yellow bottles. Then all of a sudden it runs bad. I did spill some oil and a tiny amount of tranny fluid. Now the temp gauge for oil is higher. Before it was around 60-70 now 120. then when i start it the next morning it sounds fine. after i drive it for like 5 minutes a faint burnt oil smell is noticed. Then I starts to smoke and sound like a desiel engine. 1992 audi v8q

Default RE: HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

drain the oil and refill the correct amount ( over filling is as bad aslittle oil ) chances are its blowing excess oil on the exhaust through the dip stick

edit: the tranny should be topped up with the engine running and up to temp on level ground ( assuming its and automatic )

I think you may be correct. This wouldnt have anything to do with making it run and sound bad??? One friend said to clean the engine with a degreaser for flinges and vlaves etc.

hmm hard to answer because you might have blown a gasket but running it for a while and the smoke stops would be good otherwise its a diagnostic/eye ballto see whats wrong and where its leaking
