So ANYWAY back on topic.. Lets hear some more opinions about the STi vs APR A6 race?

over hyped or over rated, there is no way that an chipped A6 is going to beat a stock STI.  point blank. a stock STI does a 1/4 mile somewhere in the low 13's. depending on the driver. a stock A6 does the 1/4 mile in what....i'm guessing somewhere in the mid 15's maybe?  i'm basing that on the nissan maxima because they are about the same size, hp, and weight. with the weight of the A6, i doubt that a chip is going to knock 3 second of the car. even if you change the tires from all season to summer, i still dont think it will happen.  the STI it built to race and the A6 isnt.

btw....a REAL doesnt start from a rolling start.  to me, that a cop out.  lol...in track and field, they dont start a race from a walking start.

Haha mid 15s  no. Mid 14s yes. You honestly don't think 70hp and 130 ft lbs would lower a time at least a second? Get real dude its much more of a competition than you think.

Roll races arent a cop out. Just another form. Its not like just because you race from a roll you can ONLY race from a roll. Track and field example, they have different lengths of races. Different people are better at different lengths. Well certain cars are better at certain types of racing. If roll racing is to your advantage, why not do it.

You are right, in track in field, they do have different race lengths. With the exception of relay race where you get handed the stick from a running start, but the race still starts from the starting block.

Just give it a rest, you are not going to beat your homeboy’s car.  You don’t even have the car yet, so why are you dwelling over it?

I was was right on my guess.  i didnt some research, and the A6 does a 1/4 mile in a 15.3, so my S-Line MIGHT do a 15 or a lil less, but not by that much

Oh i really don't care if he will/does beat me, that's the thing. I just care that everyone is getting so worked up over a stupid topic, starting a bunch of **** that doesnt need to be started. Not saying you, just this thread in general.

I'll just go stage 3, and tell him i'm stock. How about that everyone? Haha some people will probably say i'll still lose...

Is it really that serious, I mean, so what if he beats you. The only thing it will prove is that his race car that was designed to perform beats your luxury car. You just need more mods, but then again, is it really that serious.

I found out that no one is running stock anymore. I ran this Legacy GT about 3 weeks ago because he looked stock and since I’m stock I knew that I could beat him.  WRONG ANSWER!!! I heard his blow off valve, his bigger turbo, and his full exhaust.

Read what i posted right before you. I JUST said I honestly don't care if he beats me it's just a thread asking a question. I don't get why everyone thinks i care if he beats me. So what his 32,000 dollar car beats my 10,000 car? If i put $22k more into the car it wouldnt even be a question...

Don't talk to him much any more unfortunately.

You in colorado? Or just good at searching names on the internet?

When did you move to Colorado?  I find it hard to believe that you and Casey don't talk anymore.  How is Terri?

Based on your interest in Subarus and Audis, and guessing that you were about 17 or 18 from your writing style and opinions, I was guessing that you were the son of family friends.  When you aknowledged knowing Casey, I thought for sure you were the son of my friends Scott and Terri.  I am glad to hear that you are not and instead live in Colorado.  Sorry for the confusion.  Perhaps in the future you should give people the benefit of the doubt before you use obusive language.

Take the situation into consideration. You're on a forum arguing an opposite opinion of mine. All of the sudden you state my name and one of my close friends. Then you state names i have no relation to. Tell me you wouldnt think the same thing if you were in my shoes.

I'll be able to tell you once I get off the pot and chip mine.  So was that just a lucky guess at the name?  Maybe we should have forum users audition for that new show Phenomenon.

No I would not think the same thing.  I would not expect someone to take forum banter so seriously that they scour the internet in hope of identifying a fellow forum member and then "stalking" them.  Obviously you differ, and believe that such conduct is to be expected.  It saddens me that you think stalking is to be  expected.

Should I be concerned that you are sitting at your computer trying to determine my identity?  Should I be concerned that you are trying to determine the names of my wife and children?  Should I be concerned that I am going to find the family dog hanging from a tree?  Should I be concerned by your inartful use of language, including "take a stick out of your ass" and "lying douchbag"?

Thankfully, I am not concerned about any of that.  I have been a member of this forum for two and a half years and take this forum for what it is, a friendly place to discuss cars, and in particlur Audis.  During those two and a half years I can not recall a single discussion regarding internet "stalking".  It just does not happen here.  I am hoping that your recent joining of the forum is not going to be an introduction to "stalking" discussions and concerns.

Perhaps stalking is expected in your other forums, but it is not expected here and it will not be tolerated.  I realize you have only been a member for two weeks, but I suggest that you quit your "stalking friendly" forums and stay here, you will find it a much friendlier place.

And this is exactly the problem. I don't know the forum well enough. I know on specific forums like NASIOC they sit around all day and stalk people over the internet for the hell of it. Just watching out for myself.

This thread is still going?  I've been lurkin' this one since it started and I can't hold my fingers back any longer.

tsbpenguin,

What does it really matter whether or not WE think your car can or cannot beat the other car?  You won't know until you choose to do it.  If that be the case, good luck.  Practice your launches and take out the typical extra stuff from your trunk.  Push it hard and and shift fast.  Thats about all I can offer you.

Don't be mad if you walk home.

The rest of this thread is drama and if you continue down this path you will soon lose credibility, that is, if you haven't already.

**edited for semantics and general understanding
