Hey guys,

Anyone know of a place for a supercharger or turbocharger for a 2000 A6 4.2 model or is it impossible?

Why would a turbo'd v8 only make 300bhp? Do you know of any factory v8 turbo? Not to be mean or anything but do your research before you post so you don't sound like an idiot.

As for super/turbo kits, if you'd like to spend $10,000 here's a link to a supercharger kit you can buy. http://www.motodyne.com/frames/audi_a6_%20v8_powered.html

My best advise would be either keep it n/a and do the appropriate mods, sell it and buy a 2.7t and mod to your hearts content, or find a new and innovative way to use an existing supercharger on your 4.2 (you'll probably end up spending more than 10k doing this anyway.)

With a 2000 4.2, i would guess not. Could be wrong though. I know i sure don't

APR and PES are "In Development" - Price should be aounr $6k for the kits

However no news has been released about either - though the physical units have been prototyped, if i recall correctly they just cant get the engine management tackled.

MTM has done this with their RS4 Clubsport seen here:

http://www.audiworld.com/news/07/mtm-supercharged-rs4/

and

Speedware Motorsports installed a MTM S/C in a Nogaru Blue S4 Avant here in the states which can be viewed here:

http://www.speedwaremotorsports.com/project/mtmSuperCharger.asp

As for the Motodyne version, I have read some strange, possibly shady things about this company to the point I wouldn't take any chances by purchasing a kit from them.

VAST Performance has been working on a kit too.  Many people are happy with Mike's work.

As for APR and PES -  Reputable companies that seem to be excelling in aftermarket products.  I would consider purchasing a kit from either company if they begin to produce a reliable, working kit.

Although this should work in all 4.2L I would only recommend this for the S4, RS4, and S6.  You would get considerable gains from the S/C on an A6, but the prices for high mileage S4s are pretty low, and the 40hp more from the base engine is worth it IMHO.  Then there is the S8.  Anywhere between $13k and $30k right now and your base HP is at 360.  Nice luxury saloon that would at that point be able to keep up with the AMGs I would think.

It seems their are enough cars and enough enthusiasts that these companies are finally coming around and creating an option for our seemingly untunable 4.2Ls.

Until then...DISPLACEMENT!

Retard Riot 686 was just asking a question, but it's thats funny because you didn't do your research before you answer the question. There are a lot of factory turbo V8, the Lotus Esprit and the RS 6 are a few.

Of course there are a few. That wasnt my point. My point is why would they put a v8 turbo in their entry level family sedan. You can find anything. Sure there's a twin turbo v10. **** there's even a quad turbo v16 now. But how common are those cars? Not at all. Congratulations on making yourself look like an idiot yet again.

You didnt start a point no where in your statement, you didnt say nothing about rarity of a turbo V8, You Said" Any Factory Turbo V8's"........that was my point.

And all im trying to say is if you use the search button it would save a lot of the hassle of having to repeat stupid crap and answer stupid questions. I'm by no means an expert on audi's but i'm smart enough to have done general research on the subject before asking quesions. Read first ask second. Not the other way around.

I think a few of you need to reread, or read for that matter, the forum rules.  Specifically rules 2, 3, and 12-14.

They are great reading and are there for the benefit of all.

Have a nice day!

jeus there are a lot of angery new people on here, with little respect sometimes

if you want a turbo or turbos on a 4.2 I recomend selling your 4.2 and just buying an RS6
the A6 4.2's are worth 13k-25k and a turbo or supercharger run 6k-10K+  so your already looking at 19k-35k just to have a stock 4.2 with an aftermarket setup that voids all warentys.

I have seen RS6's for 30k-90k and come stock with a 4.2TT engine, the sought after interior, bumpers, flares, wheels, suspension, etc....  plus it is a stock car with a warenty and the dealership can still work on it.  and they are tested from the factory.  plus who do u know that owns a RS6????  I have only seen like 3....   I say just buy a RS6.

It is amazing how a new apple, when it is bad, can ruin an otherwise congenial forum.
