2003 A6 with about 50K on it. My wife called me today and told me she notice the brake lights were on while she was pumping gas. Then she called and told me that once she got on the highway the ETC light came on and stayed on. And of course the cruise control won't work, which I expected.

I don't even have a clue where to begin other than trying to find the brake light switch. In most cars it would be on the peddle stalk, but I really don't know about the Audi. Any suggestions?

It definately sounds like the brake switch. I just replaced mine yesterday with 46000 miles. Here is a link with pics that helped me out alot.
