eliTTe -> New owner here, 85 coupe GT (10/25/2007 1:56:15 PM)

So I'm getting a 85' coupe GT next weekend 161K miles, so excited! [:D] I'm a little worried.... its been sitting since 2003. owner parked it because of a bad fuel pump. along with that, I'm also replacing the clutch slave, spark plugs and wires, engine oil, and fuel filter. and I plan to drain the contents of the gas tank (the gas has probably turned into crude oil after that long, lol)

My main questions are, what spark plugs and engine oil I should use? I plan to change the trans. fluid a little later, I want to make sure the engine runs first.

i would make sure the car runs before buying it, i.e turn the crank with a wrench or something, do not start the car, and i would drain all the fluids in it, gas oil tranny brake radiator...... you might need a new radiatio, gas tank, you never know, block should be ok sitting though

anyone know what I should gap the plugs to, or does it not really matter?

gaping shouldn't be a problem

Well, its running, seems to be doing good doesn't idle rough or anything, it does have a little lifter tick I guess, hopefully thats not a problem... surprisingly pretty much everything works, no cel or anything.

it still needs the slave cylinder to drive (which I can't get out [:@])
