S4

Hey all,
I joined audiforums because i'm seriously thinking about buying a 2000-2002 Audi S4 6 speed. Now i'm looking at a 2001 S4 with around 49,000 miles on it.....now i haven't test driven it yet, but i wanted to know if it was worth buying it...since it is twin turbo n all. My cousin tells me that an S4 with that many miles has probably been raped and the turbos probably have something wrong with them...if i got it checked by a mechanic and there is something wrong with the turbos, how much would i have to spend in getting a bigger turbo upgrade or just replace the same turbos?
Secondly, once i buy the car...i'm planning on slightly tuning it....just the basic stuff:

Chip,
Air Filter,
Exhaust,
Downpipe,
Short Shifter.

Now with all the engine mods listed above, would it be neccessary to getting a stronger clutch, or upgrade the brakes?

Thanks in advance

RE: S4

depending on how you drive you can use a stock clutch for a long time even if modified. upgrading you brake system is up to you it's not realy nesasary but nice to have (stoptech).

upgrading the turbo system on a s4 is expensive (apr)(www.goapr.com)

if you want a fast modded audi look at the 1.8t (www.pes-tuning.com). they are cheeper to buy also part to upgrade are also cheeper. i belive you can get close to the hp of a modifed s4 with some 1.8t kits.

good luck on searcing for an audi

ps make sure at around 60,000 miles you do a timing belt, water pump, thermostat. just add that cost into anything you are buying that is around that mileage. i belive the manual says 90,000 but tust me they tend to break /fail way before that
