Default Old Audi, new owner, idle problem

I have an '86 Audi 5000S 2.2 turbo. 5 cyl 5 speed. It cut out & died, while I was driving. Wouldn't restart. I found a vacuum hose broke that went to the underside of the intake, I think it went to the fuel shutoff valve? anyway it now starts and runs but it won't idle properly, it seems to- the only way I can describe it is "carbon up" ( like on the old carb. models). I have changed plugs, wires, cap & rotor. did a compression test. It ran great before it up and died. I know Fords but this, especially with a CIS system is totally new to me. Where do I go from here? I sure would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks Cherry
Oh also I heard that with a CIS fuel sys. you have to bleed the system after opening it, like on a diesel. Is this true? If so where are the bleed ports and what order do I bleed them?
