Yesterday my girlfriend was sitting passanger in my car it was like 1 am. I had to go home and i was drinking at like 8 pm so for some reason my girl friend thought i was still drunk but it was 1 am. I  told her i wasnt and kept telling her i have to go, i told her if she doesnt get out im just start leaving with u in the car and ull have to figure out how to get home. I kept telling her i have to go then finally i put it in reverse in the driveway and was probably going about 5-10 mph then bam! guess what my idiot gf does. She puts my car to park when i was driving in reverse. The car comes to a stop and just shuts off. I try to start the car again and it starts but shuts off again. it keeps starting then shutting off.

I dont know what to do I hate her so much. ****ing idiot *****. What do you guys think happened did she completely tear my transmission apart?

my car is a 2000 audi a6 and yes i broke up with her i cant be with someone that is able to do something idiotic like that

I got news for ya, they are all crazy like that one way or another.
As for the car, check the fault codes, it may just have tripped the immobilizer because it was going in reverse while the car was in park so it throws the anti theft into high gear.
Do you have a VAG COM?

Do Audis have an emergency fuel cut-off switch?  If so, maybe this is it...

They do but you would have to flip the car over to trip it.

Oh it doesn't die right away? I doubt you broke something in the transmission, the engine would still run if you broke the parking sprawl or something. You never know, it could be a huge vaccum leak by some wierd coincidence, the best and first thing to do is check the fault codes.
Im about 75% sure its nothing major.

i would agree with auditech79 that sounds like a vacum leak (low idle it dies but at a high rev it stays running)you not have to be that pissed at your girl, it may not be her fault it could of happened anyway.
cars can be fixed but a dead loved one you will never replace

I was just thinking about you today.  I was wondering if you ever got your timing belt changed before it snapped.

Get used to people doing stupid things.  The world is filled with them and hope you are not a magnet for them.  Sorry to hear about your car, that really sucks.

If you were sober, you would have just told your GF to drive.  The fact that you decided to have a confrontation instead, makes we wonder if you did have too much to drink.  Perhaps your GF damaged your car and saved your life at the same time.  Buy her flowers and fix the car.

aww u were tehe jk

ya i got the service done at like 103k or 105k sometime around that. Got it all done for like around $700 pretty good deal.

that doesnt matter cuz about 2 months ago i ****ed up my car big time. I was sort of drunk and i was donwtown cleveland in my bros condo and i was coming down the parking garage and i think i must have scraped something with those speed bumps. So my car started making a funny noise and then the oil started leaking. Instead of stopping right away i continued to drive. That basically killed my engine. Had to replace it. I took it to a shop they offered to do it for 3000 (they found other things which came to be around 3500) so i guess that was a pretty good deal to since replacing an engine costs more than that usually. They took it from a totalled audi. I asked if they could give me the 2.7t since i have the 2.8 they said they could, they said the engine would cost the same as the 2.8 since their all used but it would be another $1000 because they would have to get a new computer for my audi that would recognize the new engine or something like that so i just stuck with the 2.8.

yep thats my life story lol

When I was your age I wasn't "that drunk" a lot either.  It only cost me my brand new TR6 one night, but luckily my buddy and I weren't scratched.  It could have been a head-on as easily as I fell asleep, crossed the road, and ran down the ditch on the other side at 70.

She did you a favor.  Next time let her drive you home.

With your history of driving drunk and damaging your car, I think your GF did the right thing.

19? Jesus put the beer can down man, why are you driving an A6 at that age anyway,  i was stuck with an 84 cuttlass.
We already told you the possible causes for the problem, you need to check the fault codes in the TCM (transmission control module) with a VAG COM or factory scan tool then post the fault codes here.

Fall Out i believe you get criticized every time you start a topic of this nature because you tell us how you were drinking earlier in the night.  I believe you posted a topic a few months back about how you need to have your car cleaned for one of your friends puking in it??? i could be wrong, but it all stems back to drinking.  hey I'm all for having a good time...with in reason, regardless of the fact you stopped drinking at 8pm or whatever time it was you're underage, and you could have hurt someone else let alone yourself.

I know this isn't a place do tell you how to handle your life.  So good luck with the car.

Let me settle this...post a picture of your g/f, if she decent i'll take her for a ride ;) lol

either way 19 is not the legal age of drinking if you were 21 i would be more legit but your not even old enough to drink it so u lose...
now post picture of your g/f :)

I think people would be a lot easier on you if you realized you made the mistake and just wanted to fix your car but you were pissed at your girlfriend and she was just trying to help you.  I wish you best of luck with your car but I had to say something after reading all of this.  I am 17 turning 18 in a month and a half about and have a A6 myself.  Considder yourself lucky to have such a nice car don't take it for granted.

Now we know what happens when you slam the car into park from reverse.  Trust me.  Your experience beats a DUI or a wreck any day.  Like one poster already said, you should thank your GF for saving you from making a stupid decision.  If you were drinking at 8:00 PM and you are 19, chances are you had more than a beer.  Depending on how big you are, what you ate that day and other factors, you need at least an hour to pass for every beer you drank.  If you mixed in well drinks, jello shots, etc. forget about it.  Your girlfriend was being a friend.  Good luck with your car, and hopefully you can fix things with your girl too.

ADVICE:

I think its the way you write Fallout. You always receive s*** for your posts because you need to learn to leave some of the finer details out. We all f*** up so no one here has a right to play the "Holyier Than Thou" bit, but you are just a big red friggin target when you say stupid things, let alone admit doing them. Just tone down your posts man...and all will be good in the AUDI hood. Can ya dig it?

Answer to Question:

Tranny is probably fine: Be resourceful and find a local AUDI expert to diagnose it for you. BTW - I know you know this, but don't be a dumbf*** and drink and drive. Even if you think you arent drunk. I f***ed up once, and even though I got off, the amount I paid for attorneys, classes, and insurance, I could have taken a CAB across the United States and Back--- 10 times! Go apologize to her..you know you want to....Good Luck dude!
