Electronic Stabilization Program the ESP should always be on however it may be advantageous to turn off the system in certain special cases whenwheele slipage is desired...........when driving in deep snow or on a loose surface....whenn trying to ..rock out.. the vehicle when it becomes stuck..........FROM THE BOOK......

You should have the owners manuel for quick referenceand it should always be in the vehicle...I have to say though weather your mechanically enclined or not the Audi service manual sold by Bentley Publishers is worth its weight in gold,,,,,Their are so many systems in these carsand some prety knowelagible people on this forum..
If we are able to ask intelegent questions ( thats where the book comes in ) we will get intelegant answears back...

If you just bought your Audi, and you were looking in the glove box for the manual...it's not there. Audi tucks their manuals into a slot under the steering wheel. That's where I found mine....after I bought another set!

Clock: Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you pull on the knob just under the clock. Then turn to set time/date.

Garage: you mean on the visor, the homelink?
1.) Press and hold buttons 1 and 3 (for 30 sec.) to clear the previous codes.
2.) Select either button 1 or 3 from visor.
3.) Hold the garage transmitter up to the visor and simultanously press and hold both butons (the one you selected...1 or 3) and (garage opener button) for like a minute or two.

I'm doing this from memory so bear with me. There are flashes/blinking lightsyour suppose to observe as you do this. Pat attention to the lights. Thats why I am saying hold the buttons for one or two minutes. I think when the lights stop blinking and turn solid, your solid.

Good Luck!

coors is right about the homelink, i just did mine yesterday. also you might want to use the learn function on the garge opening unit itself , most are rolling code and need to learn the homelink as friendly so to speak.

Because my a55 & attitude are a much better judge of when I need/don't need wheel-slippage than some electro-gizmo-tronic-thinga-ma-doozle (that's the "technical" term, in case you dint already know).

uhh, i hope someone knows what he's talking about, cuz i can't think of a single thing that looks like a bomb or a grenade on these cars. it didn't say anything about self-destructing in 10 seconds or anything, did it?! sorry for my humor, i'll do some searching and see what i can come up with for you if one of the techs don't beat me to it.

Should be easy!

Just turn the lights on and find out which one is out! Don't forget to check the directionals, brake lights and side lights.

My right rear tail light worked on and off for a couple of days before someone actually saw it not working.the inside of the old bulb looked as though their was nothing wrong with it ... my only guess would be that something in the contact area fails causing it to work one day and not the next.

The ESP button turns automated traction control off. If you are going to do an auto-cross (Time trials at the track) with the car then turn ESP off. Otherwise for all driving leave it.
