Default Poor Am/FM Reception after Sirius install

I got a Sirius unit for my 2004 Allroad. It's great, but I realized after I drove away from the installer shop (Best Buy) that I had zero AM/FM reception on the factoryradio. Went back and they told me I needed to get a booster antenna installed, which ran me another $75. Reception is better, but no where near what it was. Anybodyhave a similar experience? The techs at Best Buy say it isa common problem with new cars, esp BMW, VW and Audi.

Default RE: Poor Am/FM Reception after Sirius install

This may seem like a stupid question, but have you turned off the Sirius receiver when you're trying to listen to the regular radio? My mother's lexus has the Sirius radio installed and cannot receive AM/FM channels while it is still on. Turning off the box fixes the problem completely.

Hope that helps.
