Hello all,
I am new to this forum and just picked up my new 2008 RS4. The car is fantastic, but I am having some issues with the BT phone connection.  I have Verizon service and a LG VX8700.  Anytime I start the car, the phone connects without a problem, but the connection is usually lost within a minute or two.  Once in a while, it works without any disconnection.  I have tried to read through the posts here and have seen that keeping the phone plugged into a car charger has helped some folks, but this doesn't seem to change anything for me.  Audi suggested there might be an issue with my phone, so I went to Verizon and they exchanged it for a brand new one. The dealership showed me the paperwork that showed this phone is supposed to be completely compatible. Is there any other suggestions anybody would have to fix my issue?  Anybody have the same phone and have it work regularly?  Is there anyplace I can go to buy a cradle that will fit my phone for that connection in the armrest?  Any help at all is appreciated.  Thanks.

Hey,
Just took delivery of my car a week ago.  Contrats on yours also.

I have the LG VX9900 EnV and mine does the exact same thing.  It's a software/security problem with some of the LG phones.  I've tried everything, but can't get it to stay connected.  I tried my wifes Samsung (verizon also) and it works flawlessly.  I'm going to get a new phone next week regardless, just waiting on a member of another board to get his car back from service tomorrow to test his new LG Voyager VX10000 phone in his car.  He'll be responding back tomorrow hopefully.

By the way, they make no cradle for any LG phones

There may be an issue with car's phone hardware. I recently acquired a 08 RS4 and checked with the dealer on service coverage. According to my VIN there is a recall on phone module and will be replaced at first 5000 mi. I have I-phone and so far syncs well.

Just called my dealer about that.  He's gonna run my VIN and see if there's a recall on mine also.  I'll keep you posted.

He checked for me....no open recalls on mine, so I guess it's off to buy a new phone.

I have an 08 RS4 and my windows based T-Mobile phone wants to connect with the BT yet the car or phone will not except the pin#, despite the pin# being entered correctly. I have a call into my dealership here in Denver and i will post his response....Hopefully it'll help out.

PW....
Default code for car is 1234 (you may already know that).  Most phone codes are set to 0000.  I made sure to reset the nav system telephone settings to default, then enter a new pin of your choice....can be any 4 digit code.  Then use that for the phone when it tries to sync to the radio.

Also, you ONLY have 5 minutes to establish connection with the car when you get in it.

You might know all this, but it might help.

Craig

Thanks Craig....I do know the default pin# is 1234, which i've tried to no avail. I will try to reset and see if that works.

Thanks,

Thank you everyone for all your help. After long discussions with the Audi dealer and Verizon, I have decided to just go with a different model phone. I picked up a Motorola (which Verizon swapped out for my original phone without a hassle despite my original phone being 1 yr old). It automatically sync'd and have had no problems since. The technicians at Verizon said that Motorola phones tend to have less issues as far as Bluetooth goes. Thanks again.
