Default RE: tire pressure malfuction.

Depending on what year A8 you have you must re-initialize the system then go on about a 20 minute drive cycle for the wheel sensors to show a pressure.
If you have an older D2 car then you probably need new sensors, the batteries inside the sensors are only designed to last about 4-5 years.

Use the MMI, go throught the CAR set up and you will see tire pressure monitoring, select initilize wheels and go on a solid 20+ minute test drive.

it does not have the option initilize wheels, it is a 04 a8, it only has display tirepressure, store current tire pressure, and system on>off

So then store the pressures and take it for the test drive, the older MMI systems will do the same thing by storing the pressures. If it doesn't work then there is an issue with the system and needs to be diagnosed.

There are no pressures displayed so you cannot store them.

You have to store the pressures first. Then the system will learn the pressures in the tires and display them.
