yes you can and it will only give you about 10hp but if it was a turbo 75hp big diff. but think about it 10hp is still more than stock and every little thing helps

no he ment that if it was a turbo'd car to begin with not a n/a then you would see greater gains from chipinh. a 1.8t gains closer too 50hp from a chip because boost can be increased, along with other things.

I'm going out on a limb and saying no- definitely not worth it.  Enjoy the car for what it is, or trade up for a different model.  The 2.8 seems like a solid runner, but it is not the performance variant.

i've come to the same conclusion. The 2.8 is a cruiser, it only powers the car, it isn't the car. sure the 2.8 can move but it isn't turboed and there isn't alot you can do to it.

my good friend GIAC chipped his 98 A4 2.8.  It made quite a bit of difference and it was realativly cheap(about $325 here at a shop in NC).  It is a 5 speed and he also did a cold air intake and exhaust and that car will move!  For the money it is a pretty good investment.

but isn't the a4 lighter then the a6? if its lets say atleast 600lbs then it should pull like a beast compared to the a6

Yes i own the A6 2.8 and ive driven the 2.8 A4 there is definately a big weight difference. I guess what it boils down too is the A6 2.8 is just a luxury car. But hey no biggie still love it hahaha

oh belive me i love my a6 but i like being the odd ball and try to hook up things that just shouldn't be. had a 88 honda prelude that spanked alot of the b series hondas around my way and there wasn't much made for it just me trying and tuning. well one day when i have 5600 bucks to waste ill get the supercharger for it.

Expensive but so freaking amazing when done. I can't find the video link I had of one done. It sounds like a jet engine but thats right up my alley.

Yeah, I feel you figgy. I love seeing cars that aren't the "typical tuner" get hooked up and mod'd. I'd LOVE to trick out my 99 A6 Quattro, but it would take so much cash and possibly and independent mechanic and tuner to customize everything for my Audi. At this stage in my life, I'm happy to have rims, heated seats, and a moonroof. Everything else is extra haha. Although, I must say, have a big ass Avenged Sevenfold DeathBat on the back of a luxurious A6 is a crowd pleaser in itself. :)
